My Running Week: Cake Meets Taper - Tips and Tricks for a Successful and Delicious Race Preparation

Not too sure about my cake analogy but you get the point! The taper is important and commands respect so now all that remains for me to do is be patient and have a little faith. Then I can eat cake. Done.

My Running Week: Cake Meets Taper

Swim meet events do not typically run by the clock. Swim meets begin at a designated time, and proceed through the event list in consecutive order, regardless of how long it takes. It is up to you to know what events and heats you are competing in, and to be aware of the pace in which the meet is running at.

It is not wise to try new foods in your diet during the days leading up to a half-marathon. Right before a race, stick to foods that you know will not cause gastrointestinal distress. Avoid sports drinks, gels and bars that contain only fructose, as they may cause diarrhea. While getting adequate calories and carbohydrates before your race is important, keep in mind that you are likely tapering your running the week before the half-marathon and not burning as many calories. If you do not take the reduced activity into account, you may end up putting on a few pounds before your race.

I am so glad I read this and all these post I dealt with this I was on humera and perkacets for 15 years for RA without running out of them taking 10 5/325 I quite cold turkey cold turkey without help i have to say i am happy that did but I should of golden help instead I put my body through a rough withdraw and ending up with fribomylahia one month laterI never new or heard if anyone getting fibromyalgia from stining opioids cold turkey like that but it did happen to me so my suggestion is get help to taper off never ever go cold turkey

I feel very naive that I had no idea about needing help to actually taper down my medication or that it was addictive. I went down to one pill per day for two weeks, but that was only because my prescription was running out. I just went cold turkey the rest of this month. 2ff7e9595c
