I have moved my Plex media server over onto a Synology DS3617xs back in November and Live TV always crashes after several hours, This happens for all clients so its system wide. The only way to get it working again is to reboot the NAS. I am running DSM 6.1.4-15217 with Plex version 1.11.0.4666. I want to make note that this happens with every Plex version since I installed it. I have the log files and will be happy to PM someone with them once you ask. Please help me solve this problem, I been dealing with it for over a month and my family is ready to shoot me...... I did not have this problem when I was running Plex media server on Windows 10.

I have a Synology NAS DS413 running Freescale QorIQ P1022 CPU. After the previous DSM upgrade, Plex no longer worked and I found a thread that allowed me to download a compatible version and run that so I still can use Plex. Problem is that I now have a PS4 and am trying to use Plex on it. It won't connect to the media server, keeps telling me I need to update the media server to the latest version, which I obviously cannot because it won't work on my NAS. Is there a solution to this? Version of Plex media server that is compatible with both my NAS and PS4??

According to this page: -where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/ the Comskip.ini for synologys should be here: /Volume1/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/. But I don't have a Comskip.ini in that folder. Is it somewhere else?

Hello, I'm new to Plex and Synology over the last few months. I have an 1817+ with 20TB of storage, and have added some media and an HDHomeRun Tuner to the mix. I've never had an issue with Plex until my update today, where the server won't restart. I tried the usual, restarting the NAS and the server, and even re-downloaded and reinstalled the update in case the update was not successful the first time. I looked through the logs and found the same recurring error after todays update. I'd be grateful for any help in resolving this. The error is as follows: Jan 19, 2018 15:58:05.168 [0x7fc88c48f700] WARN - Warning: ex: boost::filesystem::last_write_time: No such file or directory: "/volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/Resources/Plug-ins-9de2951fc", couldn't check file: /volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/Resources/Plug-ins-9de2951fc.

I'm trying to upgrade from PlexMediaServer-1.5.3.3580-4b377d295 to PlexMediaServer-1.6.0.3698-7fe404e94-x86 (dowloaded from plex.tv) but when I try and install from the the Package Center GUI (Manual install, server stopped) I just get an error of "Operation Failed", any idea what I might be doing wrong, this method has worked dozens of times before!.

I am using plex server 1.9.7.4460 for OSX, and when connecting remotely via the web app I cannot select anything but the lowest quality. The highest it will let me go is 328p .7 Mbps. My upload and download speeds for the server and client are sufficient, and I can stream original quality video from my android app over the same network.

So I have a Drobo 5n and I have noticed that a new update is available for my media server (Version 1.11.0.4666). I have downloaded the update, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to manually update it. I don't see any way to update it through the Drobo dashboard and I haven't been able to find any truly "step by step" instructions to update it. Can anyone help me figure out how to manually update my Plex Media Server on Drobo?

I've been running plex media server for a while from a Drobo NAS, then connecting via the Roku app to my TV. Recently I changed/updated my setup, with a new router and updated server version. Now i am having continuous issues.

The short version is that I have 3 mirrored media servers. Same exact media libraries, synced every 30 minutes. Files are all identical. I have a movie "Masterminds (2016)" - I have a Mac server and two Windows servers. The windows servers cannot recognize the file, but the Mac server shows it just fine.

I've created a bot in Slack that provides a direct link to the plex movie requested for viewing or to download the movie to the plex server if it's not there. I've only been able to provide the link to the web browser version of plex.
